Volunteering

We work on numerous projects and there are often opportunities for volunteers and interns to assist in various activities.

Australia

Our internship program runs during the following periods:

• March to June (concurrent with university semester one)
• July to October (concurrent with university semester two)
• December to February (concurrent with university Summer break)

New Zealand

International

We welcome applications from international volunteers, but we regret that we are unable to assist non-NZ / non-Australian residents with visa applications, accommodation, etc. If you are an international applicant consider volunteering with Fairtrade International.

Some general points about volunteering:

• Our offices are based at Little Collins Street, Melbourne, and Takapuna, Auckland.
• The type of work available is rarely suitable for volunteers to carry out from home.
• Internship positions require a minimum commitment of one half-day per week for three months and may vary depending on the project or the requirements set by your university. Volunteer positions are negotiated on a case by case basis, depending on the project.
• We refund expenses that are agreed by your supervisor and incurred outside of normal travel to and from the office.
