Fairtrade ANZ Non-Development Policy
The purpose of this policy is to guide Fairtrade ANZ and our partners to make a clear separation between aid and development and non-aid and development (evangelical and political) objectives and activities.
Fairtrade ANZ Capacity Building Policy
The purpose of this policy is to outline Fairtrade ANZ’s approach to capacity building of local communities overseas, including focus areas for development work and the key mechanisms and tools available to support the development of agricultural communities.
Fairtrade ANZ Partnerships Policy
This policy deals with Fairtrade ANZ’s approach to entering into and maintaining partnerships. Partnerships occur when Fairtrade ANZ agrees to work together collectively in general or on a specific project, for the purpose of sharing skills, knowledge and resources or reaching common goals.
Fairtrade International is responsible for setting and maintaining the Fairtrade Standards
There are product specific Standards, as well as Standards for all supply chain actors (small producer organisations, hired labour, contract production and traders).
The Fairtrade Trader Standard applies to all Licensees and Clients buying or selling Fairtrade products.
Policies for Licensees and Certified Clients
All Licensees and Certified Clients with Fairtrade ANZ must be able to demonstrate compliance with Fairtrade Policies.
The Compliance Criteria detail the specific elements that will be covered during an audit for all Fairtrade traders and product categories.
Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand is an active member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and adheres to the ACFID Fundraising Charter and ACFID Code of Conduct, which defines minimum standards of communication, governance, management and accountability of development for member non-government organisations (NGOs).
Complaints relating to a breach of either the ACFID Fundraising Charter or ACFID Code of Conduct can be made to the ACFID Code of Conduct Committee.
